Abstract

A Personal Knowledge Base can support recollection, organization, creativity and moral action. This Knowledge Base is supported by three tools to structure the transformation of experience into knowledge, even over time, expertise and wisdom. (Devlin2015)(Branch2005) These tools are based upon stories or narratives and events significant to you. The tools organize the content of stories from local, immediate experience. They have been designed to stimulate associations, link feelings to events, and enlighten rather than limit personal points of view. Data Bases that are developed from the top down restrict you to the ideas and categories of the designer. Developing your own associations, linking them to what you already know and fitting them to what you wish or need to do, is a more open and creative solution to mastering the complexity of contemporary life.

The first section describes the rationale of tool design for independent adult learners. They are adaptable for woring with a buddy or small group.EXPLAIN RESISTANCE TO CHANGE AND HOW TOOLS BRING THESE INTO AWARENESS.
