Originally trained in biochemistry, I hold a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Athens. I joined the University of Crete in 2010 and started CG2 in 2013. My main interests lie in the fields of Genome Architecture and Evolution, Computational Epigenomics and Chromatin Structure.

We are mostly (but not exclusively) interested in:
Chromatin Structure
-Prediction of Nucleosome Positioning
-Nucleosome-related gene regulation
Epigenomics
-Chromatin-mediated gene expression
-Large-scale organization of chromatin
Epigenetic basis of disease
-Studying the chromatin landscape of complex diseases
-Exploring the potential epigenetic basis of rare genetic diseases
Evolution of Genome Architecture
-Organization of DNA replication in bacterial and organelle genomes
-Evolution of non-coding sequences
