Joined Oct 2015

Originally trained in biochemistry, I hold a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Athens. I joined the University of Crete in 2010 and started CG2 in 2013. My main interests lie in the fields of Genome Architecture and Evolution, Computational Epigenomics and Chromatin Structure. http://computational-genomics-uoc.weebly.com/ We are mostly (but not exclusively) interested in: Chromatin Structure -Prediction of Nucleosome Positioning -Nucleosome-related gene regulation Epigenomics -Chromatin-mediated gene expression -Large-scale organization of chromatin Epigenetic basis of disease -Studying the chromatin landscape of complex diseases -Exploring the potential epigenetic basis of rare genetic diseases Evolution of Genome Architecture -Organization of DNA replication in bacterial and organelle genomes -Evolution of non-coding sequences
