BVP model can be obtained by adding non-linear terms to the original Van der Pol’s equation. The result is either a stable singular point or a limit cycle. BVP model is similar to excitable-oscillatory Hodgkin-Huxley model of a squid giant axon. Similar phase plane can be produced for BVP model and HH model, showing the relationship between two models.
