Montse Juan
Postdoctoral fellow
Montse Juan is an Anthropologist with a PhD in Sociology. She has been professor since 1995 to 2006 on Social Science and Health subject at the University of Barcelona and University of Alicante. She is currently research project leader inside IREFREA from last 12 years.
Special areas of expertise are:
• Developing strategic direction on prevention research.
• Project management – co responsible for the development, implementation and delivery of research projects at local, regional, national and international levels.
• Financial and administrative management.
• Management of prevention implementation programmes in Substance use (Alcohol and other Drugs), Sexual Health, violence and other public health risks
• Skills on community-based participatory Health Research and implementation programmes
• Skills on research methodologies, using complementary quantitative and qualitative techniques (and triangulation analysis).
• Management teams of researchers working on local & regional projects
Currently MJ is a full time researcher for the European Institute of Studies on prevention network IREFREA (www.irefrea.org), which explores youth risk behaviour in recreational settings in Balearic Island, Spain and Europe. MJ is responsible for the development, implementation and delivery of family prevention multi-components activities at local, regional and national level.
