Ph.D. Student
I am a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Bangalore. My PhD Thesis work is on the origin and structure of magnetic fields using properties such as gauge free helicity, winding numbers and force-free topologies leading to construction of non-linear force free fields in the solar atmosphere and the development of a global dynamo model of the galaxy with a corona constrained by relative helicity. I obtained my Bachelors Degree in Physics from the University of Calcutta in 2008 and Masters Degree in Physics and Astrophysics at IIA, Bangalore in 2010. I was awarded the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Fellowship (SPMF) by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) in 2011.
