Abstract

Karl Marx, along with Emile Durkheim and Max Weber, is considered one of the main foundational theorists of social science. His contributions to sociology and the development of the conflict paradigm are undeniable. Through his writings with Friedrich Engels, Marx sparked some of the most controversial debates about class dynamics, the meaning of money and work, where capital comes from and the very nature of human beings as productive entities. Most famously, his critique of the capitalist system and his proposal of an alternative political economy often endorses the tone of not just a theorist but also an activist for the labriojng masses all over the world.
