General Discription of Project In this project, we will examine the air flow behavior around a NACA 2412 airfoil. This will be done through experimental, theoretical and numerical analysis. The experimental study in the subsonic windtunnel in Geneva will be carried out by a Hepia student, while computer calculation, simulation and visualization will be done by us at EPFL. We will study the drag, lift and pressure coefficients at different angles of attack and compare the different results obtained through the different types of analysis. The first main required task of the project will be to analyse the flow around the airfoil with the resources available: the softwares XFOIL and Ansys FLUENT, and an experimental study in the Hepia Air Tunnel. The second main task will be to compare the different results obtained and communicate this through a scientific report.
