citibike mini-project

* Abstract

This is analysis on citibike data. The idea is to see if age will affect the behavior of biking. The idea in this analysis is if younger woman is more likely than younger man choose riding a bike. Followed by data analysis and result.

* Data

The dataset was obtained from citibike's official website(https://s3.amazonaws.com/tripdata/). The data is from a single month, 2016/01. The data wrangling includes the divide the dataset into female and male, two categories. Then from the birthdate, we obtained the age information for the riders. Take 25 year-old as a dividing line for younger and older age groups.

* Analysis

The NULL Hypothesis of this project is: The ratio of man age under or equal to 25 years old to man age beyond 25 years old is same or higher than the ratio of woman age under or equal to 25 years old to woman age beyond 25 years old

The ALTERNERTIVE Hypothesis of this project is : The ratio of man age under or equal to 25 years old to man age beyond 25 years old is smaller than the ratio of woman age under or equal to 25 years old to woman age beyond 25 years old

significance level : alpha=0.05

With alpha = .05, the critical value of z= +1.65. For one tailed test, We reject H0 if z > +1.65.
