I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Earth and Planetary Science Department of the University of California, Berkeley, working in Burkhard Militzer's team. I got my PhD in physics from the Universidad de Chile, Chile on 2015. I am interested in understanding planetary interiors—particularly high-temperature, high-pressure physics— through the study of matter at atomic level, in particular, using molecular dynamics and electronic structure calculations based on density functional theory (DFT). In this framework, equations of state of materials can be obtained, even at pressures and temperatures where no experimental data is available, which are fundamental to build models of the structure and the evolution of the planets, that enhance our understanding of solar and extrasolar planets processes.
