<div>The
researcher’s interest to study LCs as the solution to enhanced information
access and collaboration space shortage was further cemented by the
researcher’s observation of the increase in the number of students who have no
library borrowing records. Whilst working at the Reference desk clearing
students at the end of each semester, the researcher observed that the number
of students with no borrowing records was increasing. These students argued
that there was no need for them to use the library when they can get all their
reading materials from the available e-resources and the internet. These
students also indicated that the library does not allow them to have any
discussions and so they would rather use e-resources while seated at some area
where they are free to discuss with their peers without restrictions.<br></div>
