order to cater for the above mentioned generation of learners, most academic
institutions are either embarking on creating LCs or have running LCs on their
campuses. These institutions have indicated that LCs are doing a great deal in
benefiting students and faculties (Bednar, 2009). The creation of the LCs is
done through the reconfiguration of libraries by converting library space into
social, cultural, and technological centres where students, faculty, and other
users can gather and work collaboratively with digital and print media under
one roof (Forrest, 2002).<br></div>
