This section traces
discourses that have been in use among academic libraries internationally, with
the objective of fitting blended librarianship in its empirical, theoretical
and philosophical origin and development. The discourses that will be discussed
here are namely subject librarianship, embedded librarianship, information
literacy and learning commons.
