Bell  and Shank (2007) have referred instructional technology to the use hardware,  software, and systems created specifically for or adapted to an educational  purpose i.e. chalkboard, an iPod, a clicker (personal response system), and a  simulation game. They see instructional technologies as means to transmit  information from a source to a receiver and aid in the development of learned  skills.   A blended librarian who works  with instructional technologies must collaborate with faculty to match the  appropriate technologies to teaching and assist faculty in the effective use of  technologies for teaching.
