Albeit these studies indicating that the role
of the Zimbabwean academic librarian is changing into a blended identity, there
is a gap in studies that attempt to understand blended librarianship. By
studying the blended identity of academic librarians, the researcher can learn and understand how it is constructed and negotiated within
the politics of the institutional work in higher education institutions in
Zimbabwe.
