There are a lot of potential use cases for
Authorea's commenting feature. Comments on Authorea.
From transparently revealing an article's \textbf{collaboration process} (as opposed to using the authors-only Chat feature), to marking-up \textbf{edits}, to manuscript \textbf{review}, to deep
\textbf{annotation}, \textbf{annotation} and even
\textbf{post-publication review}, \textbf{an open forum for post-publication scrutiny}, it is very versatile.\\
And currently it is pretty bare bones.
Here's how it works:
\begin{enumerate}
\item{highlight the text U wish to comment on (this will be displayed above your comment);}
\item{click the little Speech Bubble icon that appears;}
\item{this brings up an expandable \href{https://www.authorea.com/6868}{LaTeX} and Markdown supported text
box;} box to the right;}
\item{type in and format your message\\
(you can embed (embed links with \verb|\href{www.thelink.com}{displayed text}|);}
\item{you can change the privacy settings, and then post!}
\end{enumerate}
