Friday, an \href{http://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/02/opinion/sunday/academic-science-isnt-sexist.html?_r=0}{op-ed piece} titled "Academic Science Isn't Sexist" went up on The New York Times (a version appeared in yesterday's Sunday Review). It was about academic research and the lack of sexism therein. The two authors are co-authors on a recently released \href{http://www.psychologicalscience.org/pdf/Women-Academic-Science.pdf?utm_source=nytimes&utm_medium=story&utm_campaign=pspitimes}{analysis on the subject} (it is open access right now and much of the raw data is available - this is always awesome). available, but well over 50 pages...).  I recommend reading the piece linked above before you have your opinions influenced by the bloggers below this image of today's diverse engineers from todaysengineer.org. Regardless, you will no doubt have many of their same misgivings. Something funny is going on here (more on that below).
