The galaxy is located 0.051 billion light years away from Earth. The galaxy emits X-rays, and is suspected to have a black hole 300,000 times the size of our sun in the middle of it.   NGC 6300 is located in the Ara constellation. It is a small constellation located in the southern sky and belongs to the Hercules family of constellations.
