We will be using 64-bit Java version 8u25, so make sure you get the jdk for that version from \href{http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html}{Oracle's site}.   After some digging,  Ihave  found a new  version of Minecraft Forge for Minecraft 1.8, so we will be using that. 1.8.  It is already in the GitHub, and a tutorial is shown below.
