Se discute cómo se logró “conocer” y analizar el sistema de interés, además de cómo se diseño un sistema alternativo. Se deben mencionar todos los métodos empleados. Ejemplo: SVN, rich picture, loops causales, entrevistas, shadowing, observación, revisión bibliográfica, otras técnicas de modelamiento, etc.
