These arguments can be specified to select different photon streams than in  a classical DCBS.  The \verb|bext| module \href{http://fretbursts.readthedocs.org/en/latest/plugins.html}{\texttt{bext} module}  collects additional "plugin" functions that are not part of \verb|Data| (as methods) but that operate  on \verb|Data| by implementing some high level functionality.
