A second important aspect of burst search is the choice of photon stream used  to perform the search.  In most cases, for instance when identifying FRET sub-populations,  the burst search should use allthe  photons, the so called all-photon burst search (APBS)~\cite{Eggeling_1998,Fries_1998,Nir_2006}.  In other cases, for example when focusing on  donor-only or acceptor-only populations, it is better to perform
