We now apply DayFilter on two large energy performance datasets to demonstrate the usability and results in real-life scenarios. The first application is to the cooling energy consumption of a large campus in which a significant amount of time was spent interpreting and evaluating the motif and discord candidate profiles created. Case study 1 was completed in cooperation with the facilities and operations staff on the campus and the results were correlated with the manual processes they utilize to find operational issues. The second application is an abbreviated study of a single building in a continental, European climate. Case study 2 is provided as a contrast of a different climate, building use type, and data stream and less emphasis is placed on investigation of results.
