Unfortunately, many laboratory researchers in biology, genetics and medicine are unaware of   the ability of analysts and computer scientists to extract useful information from their experimental data.  To address this issue we have  organiseda  weekend event events  to bring laboratory-based scientists together with computer and analytical scientists to implement tools that permit useful insight into dry data.  Participants were organised into teams, consisting of one laboratory-based scientist, or  \emph{problem owner} owner},  along with coders and other scientists. The teams and their solutions to their problems are outlined below.
