The size of the bubbles is based on the residuals of the recursive partition model. Circles represent Neanderthal sites used to calibrate the species distribution model. Example of interpretation: in Southern Italy (ID=35) high habitat suitability values are explained by aminimum winter  temperature of the coldest month (bio6)  higher than -3.7 ºC ºC, and a temperature of the warmest month higher than 29 ºC.
