Rather than sampling \(A\) directly, the key is to sample the matrix \(B\) which corresponds to \(A\) expressed in an different, incoherent different (known)  basis. Recovery of \(A\) from the  undersampled entries of \(B\) proceeds via compressed sensing by solving eq.~\ref{eq:bpdn}.
