We can use the hybrid cloud regimes to quantify the effect of changes to cloud parameterisation. The introduction of the Franklin microphysics scheme had the following effects:  \begin{itemize}  \item The optically thinnest cloud regimes H1, H4 \& H6---which are found to occur in the model where optically thinner clouds are observed---are modelled less frequently. The key features in the Southern Ocean RFO maps, such as maps for  the Drake Passage, corresponding optically-thicker regimes  are better represented represented: see the occurrence of H3 in the Weddell Sea.  \item   \end{itemize}
