\subsection{Models for Dark Matter Halos}  Due to the number of different candidates for dark matter, there are a number of different models that dark matter halos are based upon, each dependant on a different density profile. None of the current profiles are known to be perfect fits, as all are based upon theory and observational data. However, it is known that more massive haloes are less concentrated than less massive haloes. Further to this, modelling predicts that larger halos are flatter than smaller halos, which tend towards being more spherical. These smaller halos are theorised to have been assembled earlier in the history of the universe - this is also known from model simulations.   \\  These models are dependent on the candidate for dark matter; The NFW profile assumes cold dark matter to be the candidate for example (See other sections).
