We mark the location of the physical Galactic midplane with the dashed line, as well as $\pm$ 20 pc from that plane using the solid lines. The correlation between Filament 5's BC\_18.88-0.09's  mid-IR extinction feature and Scutum's most intense CO emission hints that Filament 5 BC\_18.88-0.09  may be a spine of Scutum as traced by lower density CO gas
