A trace of BC\_357.62-0.33, as it would appear as a mid-IR extinction feature, is superimposed on the CO emission map. The black dashed line indicates the location of the physical galactic midplane, while the solid black lines indicate $\pm$ 20 pc from the galactic midplane at the 3.0 kpc distance to BC\_357.62-0.33, assuming the candidate is associated with the \citet{Dame_2011} Scutum-Centaurus model. The correlation between BC\_357.62-0.33’s mid-IR extinction feature and the Scutum-Centaurus’s arm more intense CO emission hints that BC\_357.62-0.33 may be a spine of Scutum Scutum-Centaurus  as traced by lower density CO gas.
