Section 2.3 covered how to string 4 2-bit adders in order to create a 4-bit adder.
After connecting I connected the
output of each subsequent addition first 4 DIP switches together to
the associated display, form a stream I called a. I
then connected the
second 4 switches into a bundle labeled b. I then added the first bit of each and transmitted the result to the first 7-segment display. The cout of
this operation was connected to an adder
to that took the
next one which handled second bits of the
case where a and b bundles and added the
sum of 2 three bits
together and displayed the result in the second 7-segment display. After tying the 4 adders together, I was
greater than 1. If able to take the final
addition had a cout, cout and transmit it
was transmitted to
