#Authors' background  Both of the authors of MTD are currently affiliated with the University of Chicago. Bing Liu is one of the most established names in data mining for advertising, with more than 28000 citation on Google Scholar. His research interests include sentiment analysis \cite{Liu_2015}, opinion mining \cite{Hu_2004}, lifelong machine learning and natural language processing. Zhang Chen is a PhD candidate under Liu, specializing in text mining and natural language processing. He has extensively worked on the idea of exploiting prior and cross-domain knowledge for better topic models \cite{Chen:2013:LMP:2540128.2540426,chen2013exploiting}. The LTM algorithm which produced close results to ACM in the analysis has also been developed by the same author pair, one in the same  yearprior  \cite{chen2014topic}. This only considers must-links, but it creates them automatically through the topic modeling process, without a preassessment phase.
