How  does Open Science at ZALF differ from universities? small 
small  institution compared to universities (financial differences? Library and data management department do not do research but are service facilities. (obligations of researchers not only towards ZALF but also towards other institutions). Leibniz Association inspires ZALF with guidelines and tools like LeibnizOpen. What do we want to achieve (at ZALF)?  easier collaboration between research groups within ZALF and with other institutions (less beaurocracy with data sharing agreements, collaborations with big institutions are complicated, who is allowed to sign contracts?)  higher visibility of research output  higher importance of research data as lots of data are produced at ZALF. Due to high mobility of researchers and the age distribution among ZALF employees it is important to think of how to discover data available at ZALF and their long-term storage. At the moment, the currency of science are papers in highly ranked journals, therefore they are properly archived/stored (Kann man hier von Archiv sprechen?). But science consists of more than papers and the current practice of focus on quantity (in addition to quality?/ same researchers need to write more and in addition review more) is not sustainable.
