After analyzing multiple standard particle candidates, astronomers are certain that there must be some other particle that dark matter is composed of. Because of supersymmetry, there are many particles that are possible candidates. The most probably candidate would the WIMP - a weakly interacting massive particle, a cold dark matter particle. (7, 8)
