NGC 7160

From our isochrone fitting we have determined that the cluster is approximately 19 million years old with a metalicity similar to the Sun’s - Z = 0.027. To find the metalicity, we just started out with a metalicity similar to the Sun (because our last cluster was the same metalicity as the Sun and because WEBDA does not have a published metalicity for the cluster) and varied the isochrone’s metalicity in small increments. The best fit we were able to find was a metalicity of Z = 0.027, which is very close to that of the Sun.

WEBDA has a published age of 18.967059 million years and there is no published metalicity. The published distance modulus is 10.65, but we used a distance modulus of 9 and and a dust extinction of 2 to produce 11. This is slightly different, but very close and most likely arises from error and a less powerful telescope. Error discussed in Part J.
