\label{fig:NegativeGaussian}  Shown is a negative Gaussian fitted to our data for $5^{2}S_{1/2}$ F=2 ground state to the $5^{2}P_{3/2}$ excited state for $^{85}$Rb. The form of a negative Gaussian is $f(x)=-a*e^{-\frac{(x-b)^{2}}{2c^{2}}}+C$ WHERE c represents the width of the distribution? half width? ) due to Doppler broadening (?)   Using `*' for multiplication is bad form in academic journals. Use $f(x) = -ae^{-(x - b)^2/2c^2} + C$ or $f(x) = -ae^{-\frac{1}{2}{(\frac{x - b}{c})}^2} + C$
