The final part of good $\LaTeX$ practice is to insert auto-numbering references to the figures in the text of the paper, instead of static references to things like ``the figure below''or ``figure 17'' (which just became 19, and you are likely to overlook when renumbering is required). Figure asdfasdf shows an example of how to properly reference a figure, once it is labeled.
