\section{Analysis of Neon data}  For this particular subset of data data,  background was not subtracted off, off  since the data appears to oscillate about the x-axis. There does not seem to be a background fit because the data is symmetric, this means, we did not subtract off any background fit. To analyze this data, values of the minimum dips were taken. In order to reduce error, minima were found by fitting a quadratic function to a small range of data close to the perceived minimum values. Once these values were found the measured spacings ($\Delta E$) between the minima of the Franck-Hertz curve were plotted against the minimum order ($n$) of the dips.
