This diagram can also be used to represent the F-H set-up for Neon. $V_{G1K}$ corresponds to the voltage, $U_{1}$, used to control the emission of electrons. $V_{G2K}$ corresponds to the accelerating voltage, $U_{2}$, and $V_{G2A}$ corresponds to the retarding voltage, $U_{3}$. Though $U_{1}$,$U_{2}$, and $U_{3}$, were all connected to constant current/voltage supplies with variable voltage, $U_{2}$ is the only voltage shown to be variable since accelerating voltage is the only voltage that is varied with time. \end{center}
