\section{Conclusion}  This paper demonstrates the theory and practical application of automated road safety analysis using computer vision and surrogate safety measures with individual examples and demonstrates early implementation using a large data set of Roundabout video data. Several technical challenges still require aprticular attention, but it The reader  is expected that these issues will be addressed as analysis tools become more accessable led step-by-step through the process of collecting, processing,  and analysing video data with a sample analysis on one pair of road users. It is expected that these issues will be addressed as processing and analysis tools become more accessable, more collaborators contribute solutions to the open-source software, and as techniques applied to transportation issues become more sophisticated.  The full  results of thefull  study of over  all 600 hours of video data will be the subject and focus  of future papers.
