Initially a A  few scans that had failed initial QC due to  small amounts of dura classified as brain at the top of the head that required editing and  were mistakenly excluded. Those These  scans were then are now  included to see if it affected and do not change  the results (in particular, $CV_a$, as this is the most important for power calculations). Including these subjects did not change We have included  the results, and results from  the revised results are shown dataset  in the manuscript. eTIV registration checks were also added to For  the new  QC procedure. This makes sense because procedure, eTIV was checked as suggested by the reviewer;  this QC check  is advantageous in being  the one first step  of thefirst steps  in recon-all and a bad registration is sensitive to misregistration  to the talairach template that  could lead to innacurate inaccurate  segmentations overall. Finally only  3 scans were left out from eTIV misregistration in total: 1 scan rejected due to failing QC at the registration step which were all  from the same subject in from  sites 4 and 6 and another second subject  at site 11. Due Three other scans were not included due  to time constraints, acquisition/ data transfer issues: One scan was  not all 12 people were able acquired due  to be scanned at some of the sites. Other scans that were left out include time constraints,  one scan where was left out because  part of the head was not acquired (possibly the files were corrupted), and one scan was left out because it was an identical copy of erroneously deleted at  the first instead of a rescan (perhaps a problem with transferring data). site.  A column was has been  added in the acquisition tables to reflect how many actual scans were acquired at each site, and information about why the scans were left out was added in the Methods section. site.
