The major weaknesses of this manuscript were  \begin{enumerate}  \item I gave the impression that to properly power a multisite study with nonstandardized parameters, one needs to scan human calibration phantoms at each site, which is very costly and certainly is not our intention!  \item Compare our measurements with other harmonization efforts  \item Specify the scanning parameters of our consortium  \item Address the independence assumption between the unobserved effect and the scaling factor for a particular site.  \begin{enumerate}  \item here, say that if people that have more disease have tissue with different properties that affect regional contrast, then it is possible that the scaling factor is correlated with the unobserved effect (i.e. different patient groups have different scaling factors). This issue is addressed, since we calculated scaling factors for MS patients and found that they were similar to controls. The caveat is, careful QC on the images to check for gross innaccuracies.   \end{enumerate}  \end{enumerate}
