I grabbed one of the many \href{http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MV6TAJI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1}{Raspberry Pi startup kits} for $\$69.99$. You can do go  cheaper if youalready  have some of the handy necessary  cables laying around. For instance you can skip the WiFi Dongle if you have a LAN hubalready  in place and an extra cable. The base Pi is just $\$35$.
