\subsubsection{Switch Activation Performance Calculations}
Direct measurement of the force required for moving the switch on the bottom of a test unit into the on position was difficult.
The required force was approximately 3 N.
Some switches, however, required higher forces, and a worst-case estimate of 5 N was used.
The worst-case scenario would be a full tray, with all switches having high-resistance of 5 N.
So the maximum required force is $9 \times 5 N = 45 N$.
