\subsection{Microcontroller System Improvements}  There are a number of improvements which could be made to the microcontroller subsystem. The first is the addition of a real time clock (RTC). This would provide additional functionality to the machine and provide a more accurate timing method for the operation than the PIC's internal timer. Another improvement would be to add permanent logs. This would be very useful in industry as it could be used to review the quality control results of the latest shipment, which would save time by eliminating the need for retesting a given set of lights. Similarly, the addition of a PC interface to the machine would allow a company to review their results a ways down the road if the quality of a given product was ever in question and as such would be a welcome asset to the design. Finally, researching testing algorithms further or capitalizing on things like the non-flickering LEDs being significantly brighter than flickering ones may lead to decreased operation time, increased accuracy and reliability and better efficiency. These would be welcome qualities in any machine.
