\textbf{Figure 2. \textit{B. dubia} survival is proportional to the number of\textit{F. tularensis} LVS CFU present in the challenge dose.} Juvinile Juvenile  \textit{B. dubia} cockroaches were injected with serial dilutions of \textit{F. tularensis} LVS harvested from 48 hours of growth on CHOCII agar and diluted in PBS. Roaches were incubated at 37$^{\circ}$C and monitored for 7 days. Injection with 10^5 CFU result in significantly more death compared to 10^4 CFU (p=0.0141) and 10^3 CFU (p<0.001), which were not significantly different from each other. None of the cockroaches in the PBS control group (no bacteria) died during the course of the experiment. Kaplan-Meier survival curves were compared by log-rank analysis.
