\textbf{Figure 2. \textit{B. dubia} survival is proportional to the \textit{F. tularensis} LVS infection dose.} Groups of juvenile \textit{B. dubia} cockroaches (n=8) were injected with either PBS (no bacteria) or serial dilutions of \textit{F. tularensis} LVS (10^5 (1.8 x 10^5  to 10^3 CFU), incubated at 37$^{\circ}$C, and monitored for survival over the course of 7 days. LVS was grown on CHOCII agar for 48 hours, harvested, and diluted in PBS. Statistical differences between groups were calculated by Kaplan-Meier log-rank analysis. Asterisks indicate significant difference from 10^5 CFU group (* p<0.05; *** p<0.001). Survival in the 10^3 and 10^4 CFU groups was not statistically different from the no bacteria control (p > 0.05).
