\section{Results}   We use our method to measure pumping behavior for animals at low food levels (OD$_{600}$ 0.5 - 5.0). The distribution of intervals shows a bimodal shape. For higher food levels, the high frequencies are more pronounced Fig. \ref{fig:results}(A and B). Similar results are obtained for the low-resolution recordings (Fig. \ref{fig:results}(C, D)). The mean rate is modulated in response to the level of food, as shown in Fig. \ref{fig:results}(E - H).
