The questionnaire consisted of 12 questions and asked respondents to describe a situation within the last two weeks in which they had experienced food waste at home.
They were further asked to describe reasons, possible solutions, and emotions associated with the particular situation.
I disseminated the link to the online questionnaire mostly through social media networks such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.
Moreover, I visited a physical co-working space for self-employed freelancers in Utrecht.
My intention was to disseminate the questionnaire among "ordinary" households in the sense that I had no specific reason to choose them other than trying to encounter normal, everyday life \cite{miller2008comfort,evans_blaming_2011}.
In total, I received 109 valid responses that I could use for the text analysis.
