\section{Discussion}  Agroforestry has a large potential to sustainably intensify farming practices that lead to enhanced food security. Furthermore, it provides smallholder farmers with multiple sources of income from the sale of products other than food and is acknowledged to be a cost-effective adaptation and mitigation measure. measure \cite{Verchot_2007}.  The previous section highlighted a selection of key challenges that need to be addressed in order to stimulate the adoption of agroforestry in Sub-Saharan Africa.
